In my newly developing, and seriously one-sided, relationship with the blogosphere, I’ve heard rumblings that is it not entirely the quality of a post, but the frequency, and expectability (made that word up). Not unlike Sunday funnies. While I never intentionally follow the funnies, I did often indulge when Saturday Morning Cartoons were over, as it was Sunday. Without the morally infused narrations flowing through our foil-wrapped-rabbit-ears (I hope someone else had to endure the consistently inconsistent musings of rabbit-ear-antennas, as the channels would dissolve within themselves only to entice a shuffling of ear directions, as if trying to eavesdrop into another frequency, only to regain the previous program) I infrequently fell back on the Sunday comic strips.
Where am I going, you ask? Great question, but I never asked for questions, so keep squirming in your seat, arm raised and wiggling, feeling as if it is actually stretching and might explode if not acknowledged. The point of these childhood reflections are that I propose to develop a consistent base of non-social interaction, through this here blog. As Instragram and the interwebs have developed their ‘#tbt’, I have chosen to create my own Thursday themed hashtag. #bwt. Or, outside of the acronyms of contemporary conversation, Black and White Thursdays. I’m still not sure why Thursday has to be the day, perhaps because today is Thursday, or perhaps that after hump day, Thursday needs some kind of motivating factor, so as to push oneself over the hill into a type of coasting through work, waiting for the weekend’s rescuing embrace. Either way, I’ve chosen Thursday.
Here then, from now on I will try, very hard, to post one picture and a short blurb every Thursday. Whoopdeedoo! Right? Whatever. It forces me to be consistent, aside from actual write-ups, and it may, and may not, entice you to return every couple of Thursdays, to indulge in a few minutes of mostly painless Internet browsing, after you’ve exhausted the 21st century version of Saturday morning cartoons. Most pictures will wind up here, on Instagram, and will not always pertain to climbing, because sometimes I do other things. Sometimes.
Reasoning for Black and White? I like it, capitalized and all.
So here’s the first! Hung out with Johnny and Amanda this last saturday. I snapped pictures the entire time, and this one I liked.
One more for good measure.
And a splash of color:
