Leavenworth Day One

Yesterday I finally made it to Leavenworth after driving a thousand miles from LA.  The first day I went big and made it all the way to portland and stayed with a buddy.  After a quick night of rest I woke up and started the next day of right by going to the infamous voodoo doughnuts.  I got a good picture but I’m having trouble uploading pictures from my new camera onto my computer.  5 hours after that I made it to Leavenworth and was super psyched to climb on some immaculate granite in pristine temps, it was in the low 60’s yesterday.

I was debating if I should take the first day easy and get my bearings or just go all in and get on the good hard stuff.  If you know me you probably know that I went with the latter idea and I am super glad I did.  Those that also know me know I hate leaving problems unfinished and last summer I got really close to Cotton Pony.  First things first I briefly warmed up and started rushing to finish this thing off.  Eventually I sent pulling a sweet cobra kick on the crux swing.

After that I went up to the forest land area and did a whole bunch of moderate classics, then decided to get on some harder stuff at the end of the day.  First was dangle a sick overhang with good crimps, big moves, and a hard mantle.  The second was Coffee Cup a funky little face climb with sloping incut crimps.  I managed to flash both of them and with that I called it a day ending things for once on a high note.  I also got video of all em so enjoy bitches!
